Application Security Testing

Application security testing finds vulnerabilities in your code, dependencies, and build pipeline before they reach production. Lanos Logic sets up SAST, DAST, software composition analysis (SCA), secret scanning, and container and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) scanning inside your CI/CD as an always-on system: rules update themselves, AI triage cuts the noise, and developers see a short list of real issues on every pull request.

Application Security Testing — Lanos Logic AI automation

What is Application Security Testing?

Application security testing (AST) finds vulnerabilities in the software you build before attackers find them in production. Lanos Logic builds it into your development workflow with five complementary techniques. Static application security testing (SAST) reads your source code for flaws such as injection, unsafe deserialisation, and broken authorisation logic. Dynamic application security testing (DAST) attacks the running application from the outside, the way an attacker would, and catches issues that only appear at runtime. Software composition analysis (SCA) inventories your open-source dependencies and flags known CVEs and licence risks. Secret scanning finds API keys, tokens, and passwords committed to code or buried in git history. Container and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) scanning checks Docker images, Kubernetes manifests, and Terraform or CloudFormation templates for vulnerable packages and insecure defaults before anything is deployed.

We wire these checks into the tools your team already uses - GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or Azure DevOps - so results appear on the pull request instead of in a separate report nobody reads. We use proven open-source and commercial scanners, tune their rules to your languages and frameworks, triage the first baseline with you, and agree a gating policy so builds fail only on real, high-severity issues. Pre-commit secret checks stop credentials before they ever leave a laptop, and every build can produce a software bill of materials (SBOM) for customers and auditors.

This is not a one-off audit. Threats and dependencies change every day, so the system keeps itself current: scanning rules and vulnerability databases update automatically, an AI triage layer checks whether a vulnerable function is actually reachable from your code and ranks findings by real risk, and routine fixes such as dependency upgrades arrive as ready-to-review pull requests. Every flaw you fix becomes a permanent check, so the system flags it if the same mistake comes back. Our engineers stay in the loop to review AI decisions and tune what the system learns.

Application Security Testing is the shift-left layer of our cybersecurity practice: it finds what is wrong in the code. Security Vulnerability Scanning watches what is deployed, Penetration Testing proves what an attacker could actually do, and Systems Hardening & Cloud Posture closes the configuration gaps. Together they give evidence for the secure-development controls in SOC 2, ISO 27001, and PCI-DSS. The setup is scoped on a free discovery call and quoted at a fixed price, with optional ongoing triage support.

Key Features

Our application security testing are designed to handle a wide range of tasks.

SAST & DAST (Static and Dynamic Testing)

SCA & Secret Scanning

Container & Infrastructure-as-Code Scanning

Business Benefits

Implementing application security testing can transform your business.

Catch Issues Before Release

Flaws are flagged on the pull request that introduces them, when a fix takes minutes instead of an emergency patch.

Supply-Chain Visibility

Know every open-source package and container base image you ship, which ones carry known CVEs or licence risk, and produce an SBOM on demand.

AI Triage, Low Noise

An AI layer checks whether a flaw is actually reachable, ranks it, and drafts the fix, so builds fail only on real, high-severity issues and developers keep trusting the alerts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Application Security Testing from Lanos Logic.

SAST (static application security testing) reads your source code without running it and points to the exact file and line of a flaw, such as an injection or a missing authorisation check. DAST (dynamic application security testing) attacks the running application from the outside and finds issues that only appear at runtime, such as misconfigured headers, session handling, or exposed endpoints. They catch different problems, so we run both.

Software composition analysis (SCA) lists every open-source library and package your application depends on, including indirect ones, and flags versions with known CVEs or risky licences. Secret scanning searches code, configuration, and git history for API keys, tokens, passwords, and private keys, and can block a commit before a secret leaves a developer’s machine.

Container scanning checks Docker images and their base layers for vulnerable OS packages and insecure settings such as running as root. Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) scanning checks Terraform, CloudFormation, Kubernetes manifests, and Helm charts for misconfigurations - public buckets, open security groups, missing encryption - before they are deployed.

It should not. Fast checks (secrets, SAST on changed files, SCA) run on each pull request in minutes; heavier DAST scans run nightly or against staging. We tune rules and triage the first baseline so builds fail only on real, high-severity issues instead of burying the team in noise.

It is scoped on a free discovery call based on your repositories, languages, and CI/CD platform, then quoted as a fixed price for the setup, with optional ongoing triage support. Most pipelines are scanning within one to three weeks.

No. We implement a system that keeps running and keeps itself current. Scanning rules and vulnerability databases update automatically, AI triage checks reachability and drafts fixes, and every fixed flaw becomes a permanent check. Threats change daily, so the protection has to as well.
